Donations sought for those impacted by Camp Fire
Nov. 14, 2018 - - The Camp Fire burning in Butte County is the deadliest and most destructive in state history. Paradise is (was) a peaceful mountain community where many Police Officers, Deputies, Dispatchers and every other classification of Public Safety professionals chose to live, raise their families and retire. Unfortunately, most of our brothers and sisters in the Paradise area lost their homes and all earthly possessions.
The MPOA is asking for your assistance in donating to the Butte County Sheriff - Camp Fire Fund. You can donate at this link https://mtyc.co/rv9uzf.
They are trying to secure long-term temporary houses for law enforcement families. The money raised from this link will be distributed to affected LE families to allow them to buy the furniture, beds, etc that they’ll need for their family while in long-term temporary housing. In addition to donations via this link, they’re also accepting gift cards that they can distribute (SaveMart, Walmart, Target, Costco, Winco, gasoline, etc.)
Also, the MPOA will be collecting gift cards. There are two collection times:
Monday November 19 from 3 PM to 7 PM
Tuesday November 20 from 9AM to Noon
***Both Collection locations will be on 10th Street south of the main PD Entrance. ***
No money will be accepted at the drop-off point.
